Developed by Mark Roberts Motion Control, the Stop Frame Head
system is specifically designed as a complete low-cost motion control system for
animation with small to medium size cameras. It can be used with film, video, DV
or digital stills cameras. The system includes software, hardware and mechanics
for Track, Pan, Tilt, Zoom, Focus and Camera (where required). Additionally, if
required the system is expandable for up to 32 axes of simultaneous motion. The
track can be supplied in a variety of lengths (2.4m typical) and is fully
extendable for longer runs. As with all Mark Roberts Motion Control systems, the
head is supplied with Flair motion control software (it can be used with others
as well). Flair is the most versatile and complete motion control software
available on the market. It is used in motion control equipment all over the
world from simple model movers, to pan tilt heads, to Milos and Cyclops.
Specifically designed for filming it contains any feature you may require to
achieve shots including animation or time-lapse shots. It is Windows based and
incredibly easy to use and program. Systems such as these Stop Frame Heads are
used daily for filming the likes of "Pingu" or "Bob the Builder".
