Gemini is the name of the Flair interface to the popular Libra Pan-Tilt-Roll head. Gemini turns the head into a fully fledged motion control system. The control box gives Libra all the powerful features of Flair, including CGI interfacing. One can use the head as normal using the handwheels and record all the movements for play-back by Flair, or one can program the head directly from Flair or even a 3D computer graphics package.

The Gemini motion control/capture system is a compact portable system that can encode up to 12 axes of motion. When connected to the Libra Head and Preston FIZ system; the Pan, Tilt, Roll, Focus, Iris and Zoom can also be replayed. The system has been specifically designed to interface to the Libra Head and Preston system on or off a crane, but will also interface to the Technovision crane (All 4 major axes) and Z Head.

The system models many different camera systems and can export the recorded data in several formats including a native Lightwave format as well as Kuper and its own proprietary format. The data can be exported as raw axis motion or simply as nodal camera motion avoiding any need to model numerous camera systems on your CGI platform.

The Gemini comes in a single equipment case 20x14x8 and weighs only 30lbs (cables case is separate). It can be powered from mains or from 24v Batteries and can be switched between these without powering down. Camera synch and “bloop” lights are included in the package for matching the data exactly to the shot footage.

The Gemini system is a very compact briefcase sized control box capable of controlling the head using a single cable giving remote control from several hundred meters away.
